Adapted holiday residence

The detached Casa stands on its own, totally fenced plot of over 800 m2 having a carport with room for two cars. The plot is totally flat and with its spacious terraces and lounge set very wheelchair accessible so also disabled people may move without restrictions completely.

Casa Peguche is a holiday house that originally consisted of two separate floors but was renovated extensively in 2016. With the aim of creating a sojourn also for wheel chair users in this house it was adapted as far as possible. During this renovation the ground floor was made entirely flat and barrier-free and properly wheelchair accessible. A construction period of more than six months resulted in a Casa with plenty of room, which may accommodate 8 to 10 people without compromising the warm intimate atmosphere. By allowing a lot of light into the house and making use of natural materials and earthy tones it has become a wonderful place to be. An open character typifies the ground floor, thereby creating optimal mobility for people who are wheelchair dependent. This floor has been divided into three rooms only separated from each other by full decorative bows, so mutual engagement remains fully ensured. The stylish decor with Italian furniture in cherry wood allows an air of a Mediterranean Casa.

The Private Pool

The large private pool (8x4m) gives plenty of opportunity to play, cooling off or to just pull some laps. Steps in the water ensure that you can go quietly in the pool but the pool is also equipped with a pool hoist allowing everyone from the holiday company, able-bodied or disabled, to use the pool.

In the shallow part of the pool, the water level is around 1.30m and in the deepest part it is around 1.85m. Beside the pool is a large completely flat terrace with a large lounge set and sun beds. With views from the pool at La Granadella National Park and the Mediterranean Sea, it feels like you’re in your own private resort.

Wheelchair accessible kitchen

The spacious kitchen is equipped completely and fully wheelchair accessible. By means of a partially lowered kitchen worktop with standard sink and tap everyone may prepare her or his favourite meal or tapas. A microwave oven, an extra wide induction hot platedishwasherwashing machine and fridge / freezer completes the fitting up. Furthermore, in addition to conventional kitchen accessories, it is provided with a standard coffee machine and a Senseo coffee machine. The long dining table in the dining room accommodates 8 to 10 people and is fully wheelchair accessible from both sides. Due to the aforementioned open character of the house one may stay in touch with tablemates this way during preparation of the meal.

The cosy living room

The living room has two seating areas giving access to the garden by several doors without thresholds, in this way extending living room and garden seamlessly. The modern sturdy sitting area with four chairs is ideal for playing a game or holding a good conversation. The cosy fireplace corner with authentic soapstone woodstove, however, is a wonderful place where one may relax by a roaring fire in the chairs with electrically adjustable standing function. This makes a winter stay in this holiday residence also very pleasant. Of course, the Casa has Dutch satellite TV with DVD, wireless internet connection via WiFi, and radio / CD.

A whole with the rest of the housing

A wide arched door connects the dining room with the annex, which is fully equipped for disabled persons, but obviously can be used by able-bodied people as well off course. The adjustments in this room are made in this way that they form a whole with the rest of the house and thus not showing a hospital feeling. This special room has two mobile high / low beds with trapeze bar, a modified extended toilet with folding support brackets and a slightly tiltable sink with standard tap for wheelchair users. Furthermore a wheelchair accessible shower equipped with a fixed folding shower chair and a mobile shower chair. Two patio doors without thresholds allows this bedroom an access to the garden with its terraces. This allows rolling out a wheelchair but, if desired, a bed as well.

The graceful spiral staircase connects the ground floor with the upper floor, but one can reach it also via the outside staircase and the former entrance of the original residential floor. This spacious floor offers three luxury attractively furnished bedrooms and a bathroom equipped with all comforts.

One of the bedrooms is decorated in colonial style with a double bed (180×210) equipped with electric movable mattress. This bedroom overlooks the pool and the Mediterranean Sea and provides direct access to one of the existing roof terraces.

The second bedroom has two single beds (90×210 cm) with electrically movable mattresses. A large wardrobe is available in this room too.

The third bedroom accommodates three people and is equipped with bunk beds (90×210 cm) with extra trundle, which in size is suitable for both children and adults. This room features a wardrobe and a dresser servable as a changing table also. Naturally, a changing mat, a potty, a high chair and a cot are available for the little ones. Chilling may take place on one of the two spacious roof terraces overlooking the garden and pool and stunning views of the adjacent nature reserve and the Mediterranean. Lazy swinging in a hammock or musing in a beanbag one could even spot Ibiza if the weather is suitable. In short, the ultimate place to chill!
